In the Community

The Robotics team promotes Science, Technology, Engineering and Math within our community by demonstrating the robots and showing people young and old what you can do with these skills. More importantly, we are able to show the community just how much fun this is.

            Lake Orion Robo Expo
            We let our sponsors know that they're appreciated by honoring them and showing them what we did over the year.

            Lake Orion High School 8th Grade Welcome Night
            We introduce next years incoming freshmen to the robotics team and show the what we're all about.

            Lake Orion High School Homecoming Parade
            At our local homecoming parade, we show off the robots we built to our schools.

            Walk for Warmth
            Demonstrated robots and raised funds to help local people avoid utility shut-off through the Emergency Utility Assistance program in Oakland County

            At this event, the team migrates to Flint Michigan to demonstrate Aerial Assist, the '15 OCCRA bot, and Draco

            Dragon on the Lake Festival
            At Dragon on the Lake, the team shows off our robots and helps inform young children about STEM and robotics

            GM Orion Assembly Plant Bring Your Child to Work Day
            Team 302 spent the day at General Motors “Bring Your Child to Work Day”. We brought with us a Local Elementary FLL team, in order to teach the children about robotics, and our impact on the community. While at the event, we discussed the impact of STEM in each field that the children mentioned that they have an interest in. Due to the diversity of our students and their interests, we were able to discuss and demonstrate how science and technology has made an impact on virtually every field known to these kids.
